Attitude is Key

Mike Dougherty, a Hamilton Police Officer lost his leg to cancer in April 2006, like many amputees he has worked hard at his rehab, to prove that life is not over, it is just different.

What is truly amazing is that on September 2, 2006, less than 4 months after the amputation, Mike entered the Danzeisen & Quigley Triathlon at Marlton Lakes; the competition included a 1/4 mile swim, an 11 mile bike ride, and a 3 mile run. As the     pictures show the event was held in the rain adding just a bit more challenge

Mike’s determination, attitude, and courage enabled him to compete, this is not a Disney movie, so Mike did not win the gold medal, however he finished which is an incredible victory!

Congratulations Mike on a Job Well Done!!
